The copywriter β agency
collaboration dreams
are made of.
Copywriting, UX writing and brand messaging support for creative, brand, digital and marketing agencies.
Need another brain on the brief?β¦π§
Sometimes you need more than an extra pair of hands. You need someone experienced enough to pick things up quickly, understand the thinking behind the work and make your life easier, not add another person to manage.
Agencies bring me into projects for all sorts of reasons, but these are some of the most common:
-
The work is there. The people-hours aren't. Bring me in for a full project or hand me a chunk of one so your team can focus on everything else fighting for their attention.
-
You don't need to hire a full-time copywriter, UX writer or brand messaging specialist just because a project needs one. Bring me in for the work you need, when you need it. You get the specialist expertise without the permanent hire, and someone trusted in your little black book for next time.
-
Give me the brief, strategy and context and I'll get stuck in. I'm used to getting my head around complex projects quickly, spotting what I need to know and taking ownership of my part without needing you to manage me through every step
-
Need me on discovery calls, workshops or client meetings? Happily. I've worked directly with clients for 8+ years, so you can put me in the room without crossing your fingers under the table. Prefer me behind the scenes? That works too.
Let me help you do less.
I step into your team like one of your own and write as an extension of you: on your deadlines, under your name, exactly as your clients need.
Hereβs what I can take off your plate:
Some recent example projects include π
UX content audit + rewrite for a global content protection platform
Audited and rewrote the UX content across 100+ user dashboard screens, covering everything from navigation and onboarding to forms, notifications, empty states, error messages and microcopy.
Brand messaging + website copy for a 20-year-old fundraising agency
Developed the brand messaging and wrote the new website copy as part of a full rebrand, including service pages, case studies and supporting content.
Brand positioning for an independent jewellery brand
Reviewed the existing brand, audience, competitors and messaging to sharpen the positioning and give the creative team a clearer foundation for the next stage of the brand.
-
Brand positioning, value propositions, messaging frameworks, key messages, audience messaging and brand voice. I can develop the messaging from scratch or work from your existing brand strategy, research and creative direction to turn it into clear messaging your team can use across the rest of the project.
-
Website copy, landing pages, campaigns, emails, case studies, articles, thought leadership, sales decks, brochures and more. I can take the copy from brief to final draft, or jump in once the strategy, messaging or creative direction is already in place.
-
UX content audits, content strategy, user journeys, information architecture, content hierarchy, onboarding flows, forms, dashboards, error messages, microcopy and content guidelines. I can look at the experience as a whole, identify where content is getting in the user's way and work through everything from the overall structure to what should this button actually say?
Discretion comes with the job.
When you bring a freelancer into a project, you're trusting them with more than the brief. You're trusting them with your client relationships, your work and sometimes information that isn't theirs to share.
I take that seriously.
Iβm happy to work white-label, sign an NDA where needed and keep your clients and projects confidential. And I won't assume that because I've worked on something, I have permission to talk about it publicly.
Which is also why you won't find a big shiny portfolio of agency work on this page.
A lot of the work I do for agencies is protected by NDAs or simply isn't mine to share publicly. I can, however, send you a selection of client-approved samples on request, so you can get a feel for my work before deciding if I'm the right fit.
If I'd ever like to feature our work in my portfolio, share it on social or mention your client by name, I'll ask first. Your clients stay your clients. Your behind-the-scenes work stays behind the scenes.
Trusted by agencies worldwide
Hi, Iβm the Kate behind CopyKate and the copywriter agencies keep on speed dial.
The one whoβll happily get stuck into a 60-page strategy deck and find the good stuff buried on page 47.
Whoβll ask the question everyone else is thinking, spot the thing that doesnβt quite add up and tell you when I think thereβs a better way to say it.
Who can talk big-picture messaging with your strategist, work through a Figma file with your designer and obsess over the two words on a button with your UX team.
Whoβll get properly invested in the work, while remembering that itβs your agency and your client.
And who knows when a project needs another big idea, when it needs a fresh pair of eyes and when it just needs someone to crack on and write the thing.
I've been writing professionally for 8+ years, working across brand messaging, copywriting and UX content.

How I slot into your process
Brief me
Send me what you've got: the brief, strategy, research, Figma files, client notes or slightly chaotic Google Docs.
I'll get up to speed, ask what I need to ask and get the practical stuff sorted upfront: service agreement and NDA where needed, deliverables, timeline, feedback points and a clear plan of action.
Every agency has its own way of working, and I'm flexible enough to fit into yours. But here's generally how I partner with agencies to keep projects running smoothly, everyone clear on what's happening and unnecessary back-and-forth to a minimum:
Leave it to me
I'll get immersed in the brand, audience and project, dig into the existing strategy and research and do any extra digging needed before I start writing.
You'll get copy drafts at agreed stages, followed by feedback and revisions until everything's where it needs to be. I can work with your team and client along the way or get on with it in the background.
Sign me off (or keep me)
Once everyone's happy, I'll hand over the final copy files in whatever format works for you. We'll wrap things up with a debrief, any next steps and feedback, then you can breathe a big sigh of relief that the words are officially off your plate.
Most agencies I work with come back again (and again). So even if that's us done for now, you've got the peace of mind of knowing there's a copywriter in your little black book who already knows your team, your way of working and what you expect.
-
Absolutely. In fact, a lot of my work starts there. Send me the brand strategy, audience research, creative direction, messaging work or whatever else has already been agreed and I'll pick up where your team left off. No making you explain everything twice.
-
Both. Bring me in for one project, one part of a bigger project or keep me around for regular support when things get busy. Most agencies I work with come back again and again, so I'm very happy to become one of those people you already know you can call when the next brief lands.
-
Yep. I'm happy to join discovery calls, workshops, interviews, presentations and feedback sessions as part of your wider team. I've been working directly with clients for 8+ years, so you don't need to give me a script or sit there hoping I don't say anything weird.
-
Item descriptionAbsolutely. I can work under your agency name, keep things behind the scenes and sign an NDA where needed. Basically, your client doesn't need to know CopyKate exists unless you want them to.
FAQs
-
We'll agree the number of revision rounds and feedback points before we start, so everyone knows what to expect. When there are a few people involved, I ask for one round of consolidated feedback from the agency rather than six people fighting it out in the Google Doc. It keeps things clear, cuts down on contradictions and gets us to the good stuff faster.
-
For bigger projects, the more notice the better. But I know agency timelines don't always behave themselves. If something has landed out of nowhere, a deadline has moved or your usual writer is suddenly unavailable, ask me. I can't promise I'll always have space, but if I can make it work, I will.
-
It depends on what you're handing over. Most projects are quoted based on the scope, complexity and how involved you need me to be. If you need regular support, we can look at an ongoing setup that makes sense too. Send me what you know and I'll come back with a clear scope, timeline and cost. No mysterious freelancer maths.
-
Yep. I'm based in Ireland, but I work remotely with agencies and clients around the world. Iβll adapt to your time zone, your market and the way your audience actually speaks. So whether your client sells trainers or sneakers, books a holiday or a vacation, or can't decide if colour needs a U, I'll make sure the copy sounds at home where they are.
Got a project in mind with my name on it?
Send it over π No live project right now? Iβd still love to connect and be part of your little black book for the next time a brief lands and you think, βAh, I know exactly who could do this!βππ
